  1. Why are repeated WiFi drop-offs still unsolvable for Windows 10?

Ever since the update to Windows 10 years ago, well right away Windows 10 would not recognize hardwiring from my computer to the modem/router, so I had to buy a WiFi stick, which is about 8 inches away from the modem/router provided to me by Spectrum cable TV and internet ISP, etc.. The thing is I have to unplug and replug the stick several times a day to re-establish an internet connection. That or go through the full process of unplugging modem, restarting, the full cycling, which gets old if you have to do it several times a day, or several times an hour or even several times a half hou

    Dropping off internet

    Hi Amelia,

    It is possible that your
    Network Components
were corrupted during the update or your
    drivers
    were
    outdated
causing your network connections to drop off. We suggest that you perform these
    methods of troubleshooting
and check if there are any changes:

    Method 1: Update your drivers.

To know how to update your drivers, click
    here.

    Method 2: Reset TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      this command:

      • netsh int ip reset
        and hit
        Enter.

    Exit
    Command Prompt
    and
    monitor your Network Connection.

Method 3: Disable auto turn-off of WiFi device.

    Go to
Network and Sharing Center. At the
    right pane, click
    Change adapter settings.
    Right-click
    on your
    connection name(WiFi name)
    and go to
    Properties.Click
    the
    "Configure..."
    button and go to
    Power Management
    tab.Uncheck/disable
    the
    radio button
    for
"Allow this device to turn off this device to save power". And then,
    Restart the PC(Important).

    Method 4: Reconfigure TCP/IP

To do this, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt
      as
      Administrator.

    • Run
      these following commands:

      • netsh int tcp set heuristics
        disabled

      • netsh int tcp
        set global autotuninglevel=disabled

      • netsh int tcp set global
        rss=enabled

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

windows 10 10147 - Atheros Qualcom WiFi drops

    hy,
i have question about 10147 release. does anyone else have WiFi drops? it happens like 5-10 times a day. usualy when i search for windows updates(maybe a coincidence?) or when i reboot the pc. then i troubleshooted a bit, i figured out that WLAN autoconfig service stops working. if i restart the service all starts to work again. how can i prevent those kinds of wifi drops? in the mean time, wifi button gets grayed out and the list is empty, like no wireless is in range (it figures .. since service is not running i guess). i checked the event viewer and saw that many services drops out from time to time including sound (realtek). any suggestions would be appreciated. got a clean install here.
    thanks

And now you know why Microsoft didn't release 10147 as an official build. Why are repeated WiFi drop-offs still unsolvable for Windows 10? :)
