I swear I have tried everything. Everything from:

    • Ease of access tweaks,
    • Registry tweaks,
    • Making sure my scaling is properly set (no additional scaling to throw off resolution),
    • Hardware settings on NVIDIA graphics card,
    • everything.

Still, screenshots in: Nimbus Screenshot (Chrome Extension), Awesome Screenshot (Chrome Extension), Windows Snipping Tool, and TechSmith's Capture (formerly Jing) are all blurry and low-res.

My custom computer specs are nothing to sneeze at, either, and I purchased this in 2018:

    • AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 8-core 4.1 GHz CPU
    • Gigabyte X570 AORUS Master Motherboard
    • 64 GB RAM
    • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 (just below the TI at the time) 8GB Video Card
    • Dual (2x) Samsung C32JG56 32" QHD 144hz Monitors running at 2560x1440 resolution

    Sigh.

Every single time: blurry screenshots. Regardless of any tweaks.

Maybe for my next computer I'm going back to Apple with a Mac Pro if perfect and crisp screenshots are no longer a possibility on Windows.

It also seems since an Adobe update earlier this year it's impossible to get crisp and smooth gradients also (they are all banded and terrible quality unless you use PNG-24). They used to be at least decent quality on gradients on PNG-8 images, but that's gone out the window entirely since that Adobe update.

And yes, I am also using all the latest drivers and I keep them updated with Driver Easy.

I upgraded to Windows 11 earlier this year. Same thing. But I switched back to Windows 10 because Windows decided to remove expandable taskbars (a feature I use daily).

Sigh. I guess quality screenshots are just not a priority.

  2. Windows 10 2560x1440 resolution

I have recently upgraded to the final version of windows 10 pro, 64bit machine. (Build 10240). After upgrading, I can no longer select 2560x1440 resolution for my philips 272C4 27 inch display. In my previous version (windows 7) this worked perfectly. The
display supports and recommends the 2560x1440 resolution when I check in the display menu. I have a radeon 6800 graphics card with the latest drivers version 15.20.1062.1002-150715a-187327C.

Any suggestions? How do I "convince" windows 10 that my display supports this resolution?

  3. Unable to set screen resolution to 2560x1440

Thank you. I converted again from Win 7 to Win 10 (a later version than above) no problem with latest version

of Win 10. Resolution set itself automatically to the correct resolution same as I was using on Wind 7 (2560X1440)

Thanks for resolving. Love the Win 10 ... working super.

Unable to set screen resolution to 2560x1440

Original title: Setting screen resolution to 2560x1440

After converting from win 7 to win 10, was unable to reset screen resolution to 2560x1440 which is best resolution for me.

The monitor being used is 32" HP Envy HD Media Display.

Because of this I had to convert back to win 7.

Is there anyway with win 10 that I can select the HD resolution noted above?

    Thanks
