Windows 10: Why are some Countries capital cities not shown in the time zone list in windows?

The biggest ones I have seen missing are Philippines and Ethiopia and South Africa. I didn't keep looking, but I am sure there are more missing. Who decides what cities appear in this list and what not? Why not to include all of the capitals in the list? Why is there no logic in this list? At least have entries for a region so an unrepresented country can choose a region instead of having to choose a different country city.

Set new city for Date and Time

I am working in a city which does not appear in the list of time zones in Window Mobile 6. How can I add a new city (with the correct time zone) into the list so that I can choose it everytime I come back?

I don't mind listing only a few cities, but it would be nice to be able to enter your own city and time zone to add to the list.

It's all part of being user friendly and allowing someone to have their own location listed, rather than a city nearby.

Hi Dean,

Try the classic “Date and Time” applet in the classic Control Panel as a workaround.

You can launch it via Control Panel or run timedate.cpl via the Run dialog.
