    Why are the updates in Microsoft Store as big as the entire app?


    This is new device for me. The updates on my MacBook were only a few hundred megabytes and the two updates on this device were over 2 gigabytes and 1.96 gigabytes. This seems excessive to me. Am I doing something wrong?HP laptop running Windows 11 Home.

    Hi James,

    Since running the troubleshooter for Windows app didn't work, we suggest resetting Windows Store by following the steps below to resolve your issue:

    • Type Apps & features on search box/Cortana and click on it.
    • Look for Microsoft Store app and click on Advance options.
    • Click Reset button and retest.

    Update us with the outcome so we can provide you further assistance.

    I see what you mean about the password but i think its a backward step to compromise my Microsoft password to to use the app store
