    Why are thousands of thunking processes being created?


    In the last 2 days, we've had 2 computers that have slowed to a crawl. Checking Task Manager we see 6,000+ processes called "Thunking WIA APIS from 32 to 64 Process". I can't find anything online referencing this issue. I was wondering if anyone knows what is causing this and what would be the resolution?We can reboot the computer 5+ times, but they still come back. Eventually we had a reboot that was clean.Windows 10 - 8GB Ram - Standard Dell Business Desktops

    I gave it a try but it still didn't work. I restarted the computer hoping that would help, but it didn't. Still getting the same message Thunking WIA APIS from 34 to 64 process"

    I have windows 10, 64 bit and recently bought an HP OfficeJet pro 8715 printer. I'm trying to scan with it but I'm getting "Thunking WIA APIS from 34 to 64 process"

    I have no idea what this means. All I know is I can't get it to scan to my computer. Any help?
