Why are we able to use Itunes but are unable to download onto our Ipod in Windows 11 "S" mode?

The message when the iPod is plugged in - "This iPod cannot be used because it is not supported on this version of Windows". The iPod is the current generation. Is this because of S mode and if so, is there a way around this or is the only way for the iPod to work is to take it out of S mode?Thank youJones

    :)

The message appears to be in iTunes. If the iPod is already plugged in, the message appears after I open iTunes. Or, if iTunes is open, then I plug in the iPod, the message then comes up. Windows automatically opens up the iPod and shows its folders every time I plug it in regardless of iTunes being open.

I just read that I can do this if I get out of S mode which is what I have. Sorry, just realized that. I am new to Windows 11 and am very reluctant to try something I don't know. If S mode was easy to get in and out of, I may try it. Just don't want to mess up the new laptop.

Synching iPod Devices in Windows 11 Home

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop PC with the Windows 11 Home OS. Despite downloading the Apple and iTunes software from the Windows web site, I have been unable to synch the podcasts from iTunes to either an iPod Touch or an iPod shuffle. (I was able to do this with a previous laptop running Windows 10.) I have updated all the USB drivers, but still no success. iTunes "reads" from the iPods, but it does not "write" to them.

    Ipod won't sync with Itunes.

If you have all the songs on a CD then that will do. Try what sneekypeet said first, then if that doesn't work go into itunes and select your ipod. you will see a button called restore. Click on it and it will reformat the ipod. At this point take my selected steps. Also, download this:

I wouldnt own an ipod without it. If it doesn't sync to that program, then you definately gotta restore. But that will also allow you to transfer your music easily so you don't lose anything.*Toast :toast:
