Windows 10: Why aren't my photos uploading easily from my devices like before?

I used to be able to just hook up my phone via USB or stick in the card from my camera into my computer, then Photos would automatically upload all the pictures on either device that weren't already uploaded.


Now, when I attach my phone via USB, Photos sometimes doesn't even do anything, so I end up just going into the camera's files, copying all the latest photos, then pasting them into a folder.


When I stick in the card from my camera, it selects ALL the photos on my camera now, not just the ones that don't already exist on my computer. I have to de-select all of the previous months' worth of photos, and make sure just the latest ones are selected.


How can I get it back to how it was?

Uploading photos to ebay. December 2016

For us to better assist you with this issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

• What browser did you use when uploading photos in Ebay?
• From which location are you trying to upload the photos?
• Are the photos saved on the Pictures folder, or on the desktop?

To isolate this problem, we suggest using a different browser in uploading the photos. If the photos are saved on the desktop, moved it in the Pictures folder and try uploading again.

Uploading Photos

Failing to upload photos may be caused by several reasons. One of which is if there are connectivity issues between your phone and PC. To isolate the issue, kindly answer the following questions:

• When did the issue start?
• Does this happen with all connected devices?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild


Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.
