Windows 10: Why backup to DVD is not working anymore?

When I saw this message, I “wrote the following label to a blank media and inserted it into X:\.” I wrote it on a Note and a Word file; none of them worked. I went to Community: someone answers to write the label on the back of the DVD and insert it back in; however, Windows froze.

I want to create backup copies of my favorite DVD collections and I tried Nero but it said that the DVDs are protected. I tried looking for another software and I found this list of DVD copy software that claimed to be the best for copying protected DVDs. I need a feedback from someone who has tried using any of these software before I'll buy one. I just want to make sure so I can burn my DVDs and not my money. If you have any other suggestions or recommendations I would really appreciate it.

 

Are DVD-R's a good, cheap and reliable backup option ?

+1 on W1z's suggestion. Do multiple backups everywhere. DVD's are particularly bad because they have unstable lifetimes.

We understand that you want to back up your files on your DVD. At this point, we suggest that you try these steps so you can create a backup of it:

• Open the folder that contains the files that you want to back up.
• Select the files to be moved on the DVD disc inserted.
• Click Share on the tab section of the window.
• Click Burn to disc to transfer it to the DVD disc.

In case these steps didn't work, kindly consult your manufacturer so they could recommend a software compatible for your computer to burn your files on your DVD.
