Windows 10: Why can i not add and edit items to my calendar?????

Hello Microsoft Community,


I did an update to my computer with Windows 10 and now I can not add or edit any event on the calendar. This is beyond aggravating as i share my calendar with others in my group.

I thought that the issue was limited to the calendar until I tried to send and email with attachements. Now I cannot type in the message line

or add a not to the attachement.

I tried to go back and undo the update and the comptuer will not let me.

Tried to get help from Microsoft on the issue , no help from them.

Does anyone have an answer to these issues.

hotmail/outlook calendar items not syncing properly -- bay-404-m.hotmail.com

Issue was only solved for us by creating an entirely new calendar on that Hotmail addressing and discontinuing use of the other. It seems that the Microsoft calendar on its servers can become so corrupted as not to properly send synchronization to all the
various cloud-connected devices.

Luckly, it's relatively easy to do this without losing any calendar items.

• Make a new calendar on the account
• Using Outlook, go to the original calendar.
  • I strongly suggest getting rid of past items in order to minimize sludge
• change calendar view to lists or categories, so you get a nice, scrollable list of items
• use shift key + mouse to select everything, or ctrl+ shift to select some of what you want
• drag it to the new calendar

Once you've confirmed that the new calendar contains all of the appointments you want, you can use outlook.com to delete the old one and never have to deal with it again.

 

Can't seem to start Windows 10 calendar. (Home edition version 1607)


Okay then.
Things seem to be working now.
Regardless of if my account is an Administrator or standard user.
An regardless of if the accounts are local or Microsoft. (I tested everything)

How ?
I pasted the following in my browser: windowsreport.com/windows-10-app-wont-open/
And then followed the instructions.
It was step 8, that seems to have fixed it for me.
It wasn't working after step 7 (I know. Cuz I tested it.)
It was step 8.
And for all I know, I could have skipped directly to step 8 and the Calendar would have started working.
Oh well.

I believe I found the above (windowsreport.com/windows-10-app-wont-open/), somewhere on "this" site.

Prior to the above, I did almost everything that people and articles suggested.
Including the MS trouble shooter for windows apps tool, and the power shell commands for uninstalling and then reinstalling the apps.
Nothing worked for me until I followed the above.

So, the bottom line is ...........
Things are working now.

So not really following. I suspect the calendar the phone calls My Calendar is the default phone calendar. When you enter stuff in it it stays just on phone. Since it is likely set as default then it is populated when you enter an item.

The real test is when you click (enable) the gmail calendar. Now when entering items if My Calendar is still checked, and its your default, then the entry goes there. To avoid this I had suggested unchecking My Calendar so you know it is going into gmail's calendar. Then force a sync. Also check to ensure calendar app is allowed to use cellular data and if the capability exists, allow app to run in background.
