Windows 10: Why can I not Update Spotify for Desktop?

I use the Spotify free version on Windows 11 64bit which is fully updated.I open Spotify select About Spotify which shows Version 1.2.20.1216 since April.I have not had any "blue" item appear beside my Profile Picture suggesting Update Spotify. Help articles.As at today Filepuma has available for download Spotify Version 1.2.25.1011. seems multiple updates later.If I download the Filepuma Version and try to install it, I get 2 messages "Spotify is already installed -open it?" which just reopens 1.2.20.1216. and "No". The same 2 messages appear if I select Download from Microsoft Store

Spotify

I have just discovered two Spotify entries in the StartUp list in Task Manager.
However there is no trace of Spotify elsewhere in the system.
I went through the registry and deleted every reference to Spotify that could find, although some refused to be deleted.
That made no difference.
The store shows that Spotify is installed. Which is strange.
However I found an entry in the Apps list in Start Menu, clicked uninstall and that cleared the problem.

First, check the volume on the bottom right corner of the Spotify application, if it is set correctly proceed to the next step.

Right-click the volume icon > Open volume mixer > Select Spotify (if it is not appearing in the list, play any song), make sure that "Output device" is set to "Default"

 

Unable to integrate Cortana with Spotify.

We can imagine how difficult it could be when app feature do not work the way they supposed to. However, could you please let us know from where you got the Spotify app?



In the meantime, we would suggest you to follow steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

1. Go to Settings > Time & Language.
   
2. Click on Region & Language.
   
3. Check if country and language is set to United States and
   English (United States).
   
4. Then set up Cortana again.
   
5. Log out from your Spotify account and log in again.
   
6. Then try integrating Cortana with
   Spotify and check.
