    Why can I scroll vertically in some Windows Explorer folders but not others?


    When navigating in Windows Explorer, I can scroll vertically using the mouse wheel in some folders but not others. In the 'others', I have to individually select the folder or file. I can't scroll to it and when I attempt to scroll, the selection moves horizontally not vertically.I've uninstalled and reinstalled the mouse / driver several times. I've also upgraded from W10 to W11. But the problem is still there.This behaviour happens in the same folders - in some, I can scroll vertically and in others I can only scroll horizontally. It's the same folders each time irrespective of how many time

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Vertical Scroll Bar

    I am using Windows 10 and Office 365 on my PC. I have a large number of folders in My Documents. One of these folders and its subdocuments folders has the vertical scroll bar missing. In its Word and Excel files I have checked to Show
    vertical scroll bar options and the files have the vertical scroll bar displayed. It seems to be just the folders where the vertical scroll bar is missing.

    Please can you tell me how to recover the vertical scroll bar. Thank you.
