Why cannot I set a default keyboard in Windows 10?

Until recently, around two Windows 10 updates ago, I was able to pre-defined my keyboard preference. Now, I cannot. I only useENG INTL as my default one because I also speak Spanish.

Nowadays, it's impossible to set one as the default one. I could use this feature and it's completely ignored:

Even if I remove the ENG US, it changes in the background seldomly. Suddenly, when I'm trying to type anything with theSpanish Special Characters á, é, í, ó, ú, ü, ñ, they are not recognized because somehow,Windows switched back to ENG US.

This is my current version of Windows:

Did I report this bug before? Yes, I did in the Feedback Hub:

    https://aka.ms/AAameor

However, as always, when I report a bug in the Feedback Hub, they are ignored. If I provide a suggestion, I even got thousands of votes and partial answers from the Microsoft Team, but nothing when it's about bugs that are more critical.

Any idea if there is any workaround even from the RegEdit side? I tend to dislike pressingWindows + Space and switching between languages that I don't need. Thanks.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

  3. How do I change the default keyboard from handwriting to typing on Windows 10

    Hi Paul,

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10.

Before proceeding, we need to know more information to help you better.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Have you enabled the tablet mode settings on Windows 10?

Kindly follow the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Turn off on screen keyboard

    • Open Start menu, type Settings in search bar and click on Settings.
    • Click on Ease of access and select keyboard.
    • Turn off the on screen keyboard.

Step 2: Turn off tablet mode

I suggest you to turn off tablet mode, as it may also be the cause for the issue.

    • Open Start menu, type tablet mode settings in search bar and click on it.
    • Turn off the tablet mode option and check if it helps.

Reference: I suggest you to refer the below link and check if it helps.

    Change your keyboard layout

The steps applies for Windows 10 also.

    Thank you.

Why cannot I set a default keyboard in Windows 10?

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
