    Why can't Edge or even Windows 10 itself recognize my Chromecast TV as a device?


    The Settings applet Add a device fails to find my Chromecast TV; therefore, the new Chrome-based Edge browser can't cast to my TV. Oddly, I can add my neighbor's Razor phone as a device, go figure.


    Yes, I know Chrome can see my Chromecast device. That's not the point, though; the point is that Microsoft wants us to use the new Edge browser and it can't even perform this 1 simple task.


    I'm running the latest Windows 10 Pro and Edge is less than 48 hours old on my PC. I'm an advanced systems developer with both Microsoft and Google, I could easily write my own driver to let Explorer communicate with Chromecast devices and their remotes, but I'm really surprised that Microsoft isn't doing this already.


    Seriously, if Microsoft wants to use Edge instead of Chrome, somebody needs to wake up and smell the coffee because I see no advantage of using Edge, therefore I'll stick to Chrome and Firefox.

    Casting from MS Edge and Windows 10 to Chromecast or Samsung Smart TV

    Am unable to cast from MS Edge to either Chromecast or Samsung Smart TV. Samsung Smart TV shows in Devices but not in Action Center. Can someone explain how casting using MS Edge works in Win 10?

    Win+P pops up the "Project" slide out menu, but does not see either the Chromecast or Smart TV "Samsung LED (65)" devices.

    Chrome sees only the Chromecast device and works with it. Chrome does not see "Samsung LED (65)" device that was visible and worked with both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

    How to Connect to Chromecast?

    The solution you have mentioned does not answer the problem at all. Even I'm facing the same problem in windows 10. I am unable to directly cast my microsoft edge to chromecast device. It simply does not show in the list of available devices. My chromecast
    device is connected to my TV through HDMI port and is working perfectly ok with mobile.
