  1. Why can't I add a second Work or School Account as a User on my Windows Computer?

I am owner of several companies. One of the companies Company/Tenant A has set up a Multi-Tenant-Organization and my user is being provisioned to another tenant Company/Tenant B. So there is a UPN *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and one UPN *** Email address is removed for privacy *** far I have been working within both tenants under my User Account from Company/Tenant A on my Windows computer. But as things are easy to get mixed up, I wanted to create a separate User Account for my User that's been federated from Tenant A for Company/Tenant B on my Windows computer. But which ever way I choose, if I am logged in w

Sign into account protection with work or school account

    Hello, this is Emily.

Windows' account protection is specific for personal Microsoft account, because a work or school account has its own account management/protection feature managed by the organization and configured by the organization, hence work/school account is not relevant here for this feature.

If you are using Windows Home edition, you do have to set up the computer using a personal Microsoft account. However, you can turn it into a local user by severing the tie with this Microsoft account later by going to Settings > Accounts > Your info. From there, one can click on "sign in with a local user instead" to turn the Windows user into local account. Users cannot set up a Windows user using a work or school account because it is a Home edition, which is not intended for business use. If you need to set up a Windows user using work or school account, you need at least Pro edition, which you already have. If that's what you need to do, you will have to use these steps instead:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School, click on Connect.

Don't sign into your work email yet. Instead, click on "Join this device to Microsoft Entra ID". On the next step, you will be prompted to sign in, then you can sign in.

Once done, restart the computer and you can use "switch user" to sign in using the company email.

Why can't I add a second Work or School Account as a User on my Windows Computer?

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Why can't I add a second Work or School Account as a User on my Windows Computer? :(
