    Why can't I change the 1 minute screen timeout in Windows 11

    I recently upgraded to W11 and have all the updates to date on my HP laptop. After 1 minute of no input, the screen turns off and locks the computer, meaning I have to input my password to get back in. I have tried changing "Screen and Sleep" timeouts in Power settings, currently I have screen off after 5 minutes for battery or plugged in, sleep after 5 and 10 minutes respectively for battery and plugged in.After doing some research I found out how to use the registry to make the "Console Lock Display" option available in the advanced power settings, that's set to 5 minutes for both battery an

    Unable to change windows 10 timeout

    I have tried all options suggested like;

    • changing lock setting in Persoanlize-lock screen-screen save settings- change wait value (doesnt hold value, whatever I set comes back to 2).
    • Changed registry to enable Power Options-Sleep-Sytem unattended sleep timeout , changed it to 60 min
    • Changed registry to enable Power Options-Display-Console lock display off timeout , changed it to 60 min
    • System file checker tool didnt find any correct/missing files "Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files"
    None of the options work, after 2 minutes my computer locks. Is there any way out of this nightmare or should I switch to older windows?

    Screen timeout not working in Windows 10

    Acer, Swift 3. Windows 10 Home edition. Version 1809. Build 17763.379. installed 1/16/2019. I followed your directions, to the letter. Troubleshooting "fixed" the extended screen timeout settings I had established met my needs, 20 minutes on battery,
    30 minutes on line power. Then I established a new, custom power plan with these screen timeout settings, made this my power plan, and rebooted. Then waited. Sure enough, ample time without the annoying screen timeout of approximately two minutes of inactivity.
    So I put the laptop in sleep mode, awoke it, and waited. Two minutes later, the screen timed out. So, no, the remedies suggested have not resolved the two minute inactivity screen timeout. It's apparent that when I use sleep mode to suspend activity,
    something in the operating system reverts to the extremely short, two minute inactivity screen timeout , essentially putting the computer back into sleep mode.
