  1. Why can't I copy iTunes folder from USB Hard drive to my documents?

Trying to move my iTunes library from my Mac to my Win10 PC, I coped the whole iTunes library folder from the mac to a USB drive which took about 6 hours... now I have plugged it into the PC, the iTunes folder is showing there on the USB drive but when I copy it to my documents, nothing happens, it doesn't even try to work... I can copy individual files over, why not this folder..??

All the online tutorials advise using a USB drive to move the library between computers...!

    Any ideas?

    :)

    itunes library

This is the method I have used several times on my wife's computers is to just copy the iTunes Media folder. This contains all the movies and music you have in iTunes.

Just go to File Explorer > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media. Copy the whole iTunes Media folder to a USB drive (*warning* depending upon how much media you have on your drive, this folder could be quite large, so make sure you have a good 16-32GB USB flash drive. I used a USB 3.0 Adata 64GB jump drive as my wife has almost 60GB of stuff!). Then go make a cup of coffee and eat a donut because it takes a minute.

After you have all the data on the flash drive, set it aside and do your drive upgrade. Then just re-download iTunes to your new harddrive and drag the iTunes Media folder from your jump drive to replace the empty new iTunes media folder you just downloaded.

Simple and works like a charm.

  4. Why can't I copy iTunes folder from USB Hard drive to my documents?

Recover "My Documents" folder documents from Old Hard Drive

I am trying to recover my GF's four-year architecture work (assignments and designs) from her recently gone-for-good Asus N73 laptop running Windows 10. I have detached the hard drive from the laptop and connected it to an external hard drive case.

Here's what I have done to get the data back:

    1. Under the old C: drive, under Users\Administrator, I could see all the default Document folders. But according to my girlfriend, quite a few documents are missing.
    2. I right-clicked the user profile folder and hit properties. I found that the total disk space used by this folder is much bigger than all the visible files and directories added up together.
    3. While copying the "Administrator" folder it is asking me the for permission to copy files with some weird username prefix.
    4. I tried to boot the OS from the old hard drive by selecting the USB boot option from my BIOS. The OS starts with Windows 10, but still I could not see all the files that mentioned by my girlfriend under C:\Users

What have I done wrong? What other steps I have missed? If the documents were not encrypted, why I could not see them in the place they should be?
