Windows 10: Why Can't I Create A System Repair Disk On Any Media ?: Windows 11

I have tried to create a System Repair Disk with different types of media, and all fail for various reasons. I am on Windows 11, using an HP All-In-One Desktop computer. I have tried an external USB hard drive, an external USB DVD R/W drive, and a USB Flash Storage card.===================================================================================o For the DVD, I tried using a HP CD-R disk, a Memorex DVD-R disk, and a Staples DVD+R disk. All these disks are new - have never been formatted or used in any way. I get the following each time: "The requested operation is only valid wit

I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below in order to create a system repair disc.

• Run the media creation tool.
• Select Create installation media for another PC.
• Choose the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10.
• Follow the steps to create the installation media, and then select Finish when it’s done.
• When you’re ready to perform a clean installation, turn on your PC, insert the DVD or USB flash drive you created, and then shut down your PC.
• 
  Restart your PC, and then press any key to boot from the DVD or USB flash drive.

Earlier day ago I just upgrade my laptop system from windows 8.1 to 10.

Before upgrading I create a system repair disk(Sony DVD-R (1x to 16x)). in windows 8.1 is worked me correctly,

but after upgrade I tried to create system repair disk for windows 10 but it getting me an error "media speed incompatible".

please help me for this problem.

DVD Device is "MATSITA DVD-RAM UJ8C2".

The System repair disk is actually quite an old concept from Windows 7 era. It allows you to create a repair disk from Control Panel > Backup & restore > Create a system repair disk. It requires CD/DVD rom and it will create a CD/DVD media. You can use it in case computer runs into issue and cannot boot up.

As I mentioned this is an old concept and modern computers these days usually don't have the CD/DVD-rom. Instead, you can create a Windows 11 Installation Media via a USB flash drive instead. Once you have this flash drive, you can use it to do the exact same purchase as a repair option to boot up computer into Windows Recovery environment, or you can also use it to install new copy of Windows 11.

Here is how you can create one:

To perform a clean installation of Windows 11 using the Windows Media Creation Tool:

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2156295

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.
