I noticed you mentioned 'factory reset' in the original post, and I assumed it was a Dell factory reset (which puts all bloatware back and installs the older Windows build).

Greeting Card Factory version 10 won't install on Windows 10

I had this problem with a client, the problem turned out to be the installation program will only install onto a 32bit operating system. My client was now using a 64bit version of windows now and she wasn’t going to go back to an older version of windows
for Greeting Card Factory.



If the installation program sees it’s a 64bit operating system it does exactly what you described.



There is a solution to the problem however and you can get it installed on a 64bit system with a bit of playing about.



HOWTO



Install it onto a 32bit OS.

If you don’t have one available you can get MS VirtualPC, Virtual Box or VMware and install a 32bit OS in there on your computer.



Then install Greeting Card Factory inside the 32bit version OS you just set up.



You could just run it from there and that would be it or to the next step to get yourself an install file for your 64bit system.



Now go find a program called PickMeApp at Welcome (Home page) | PickMeApp and install that on the Virtual 32 OS you set up and run that.



In the left pane of PickMeApp click the folder icon called Qualified Applications and it will expand to show a further list of programs.

Now click the button called Capture and wait until is finished analysing your program.

When it’s finished analysing your program look in the right pane and at the top you will see a button called Edit.

Click this and rename it to GreetingCardFactory and the text at the left called Open Folder to change the path to save your file to. I'd choose either Downloads or Desktop so you can find
it easier when it’s finished making the new installation file.

Finally select the button called Save All As Exe.

When it completes its process a window should open showing you your new installation file for GreatingCardFactory.exe in the directory you chose.

After that you will now have a file you can use to install your Greeting Card Factory to a 64bit OS.



Copy that file to a USB disk then insert the USB disk into the computer that you want to install Greeting Card Factory on and run it.



just run that file on your new 64bit computer and you will see it install GCF just as you had it on the 32bit system it copied it from.



Its not always as simple as copying a directoy to a new computer to install something, alot of the time now you have to regester DLL's and do a heap of other things that installation programs automate for you. Thats what PickMeApp will do. It looks
at the installation log file and scans the system for all the things it needs to do including the regestry. and builds a new installation file for you to use with all these things included in it.



Anyway I hope this works for you as my experiance with Greating Card Factory problems regardng installation have all been this problem.

 

Problem Installing Greeting Card Factory Software

I just updated my system from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The problem is that Windows 10 will not let me have two versions of Greeting Card Factory installed at the same time and I need both. I installed them in reverse order (v9, v7) as requested by the software,
and v7 keeps replacing v9. It worked in Windows 7, why not in Windows 10? Please help!
