Windows 10: Why can't I install Minecraft Launcher on Xbox App or Windows Store?

Whenever I try to install on Xbox app I immediately get a failed download and error code 0x87e00196Just to note I have multiple times restarted my PCI have repaired and reset the Xbox app and windows storeI have made sure my Windows 10 is up to date and currently running 22H2I own Minecraft launcher and both Java and Bedrock Editions. I had this software installed previously until a failed update of Bedrock prompted me to re-install the launcher, then this happened.

Please try these steps:

Reset the Microsoft Store Cache

1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
   
2. Type wsreset and hit Enter to reset the Microsoft Store cache.
   

Reset the Minecraft App

1. Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
   
2. Find the Minecraft Launcher app, click the three dots and select Advanced Options.
   
3. Click the Reset button to reset the Minecraft app.
   

Reinstall Minecraft from Microsoft Store

1. Uninstall any existing Minecraft installations from your PC.
   
2. Open the Microsoft Store and search for "Minecraft Launcher".
   
3. Install the latest version of the Minecraft Launcher from the store.
   

If none of these solutions work, you may need to check for any Windows updates and run the Microsoft Store Apps troubleshooter.

There are many reasons why you can't log in to Minecraft Launcher, but all of them are due to Microsoft Store and related services. I will provide several methods to try to solve this problem, please refer to the following steps for operation:

• Clear the cache on Microsoft Store.
  

1. Press the Windows logo key + R, type wsreset.exe, and select OK.
   
2. After a few seconds a blank command prompt window will appear, which will disappear after about ten seconds and the Microsoft Store will open automatically.This means the cache was cleared successfully.
   

• Make sure you're using the Microsoft Store Install Service.
  

1. Services.msc can be found by pressing Windows Key + S and typing services.msc.
   
2. Locate and double-click the Microsoft Store Install Service; if the status is Running, right-click it and select Restart.
   
3. Change it to Automatic if it's disabled, then click Start and OK.
   

• Reinstall the Microsoft Store app
  

1. Press Windows key + X
   
   Click and Run Windows PowerShell(run as Administrator)Copy and paste the command below then hit Enter:
   
   

• Reinstall the Minecraft Launcher
  

1. Click Start >Settings >Apps，find "Minecraft Launcher" in all apps.
   
2. Click on the "Minecraft Launcher" Advanced options >Uninstall the application.
   
3. Open the Microsoft Store, search for "Minecraft Launcher", download and install it again, and log in to your account to see if it works.

Cannot Launch Minecraft Launcher or Install Minecraft from Xbox app or Windows Store

Hello,

I've recently upgraded to a new computer (Lenovo Slim Pro 7) from my old computer (Surface Pro 7). Everything works beautifully with the new computer except for Minecraft and the Minecraft Launcher.

The Issue:

When downloading the Minecraft Launcher (both from the Microsoft Store and the webpage), the installation goes through, but when I try and launch the application I receive the error message: CLiP license device ID does not match the device ID in the bound device license. I've also tried launching the application through the Xbox app and Microsoft Store with the same message still appearing. I've contacted multiple different Xbox Support persons to help, and we've done things such as Repairing and Restarting the Xbox App and Game Services application, attempting to launch the game through a local account instead of my windows one.

When trying to download Minecraft without the launcher through the Microsoft Store, I recieve the message: CLiP license device ID does not match the device ID in the bound device license. (Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0EA000A).

When trying to download Minecraft through the Xbox App, I receive Error Code: 0xc0ea000a

I feel like I've exhausted most of my options, and every support person through Xbox Support has told me my issue was fixed, and that I needed to restart my PC for the changes to go into effect. However, after every restart I still have the same issue.

However, based on a guess I think this might be a Windows issue and not a Xbox issue, but I'm not sure.
