Windows 10: Why can't I move the entire Windows 11 Task Bar to the Left Side of my screen?

I have kept the task bar on the left side of my screen for years now. With the proliferation of wide screen monitors, the vertical space along either side of the screen is vastly under utilized, making it the perfect spot to place the taskbar. Windows 11 does not allow this any more, and more recent versions of Windows 11 have intentionally broken known work-arounds. Other than MS having their heads placed you know where, there is no reason to prevent a user from moving the task bar. I am forced to update my work computer, but I have refused to upgrade my personal laptop to Windows 11 solel

The directions to fix this problem should read:

• Go through all the motions to create a useless account.
  
  Log Out and log into your usual account.
• The start button will now work for left click
• The task bar icons will now work for right-click.
• When you hover over the task bar open icons, the images will not get stuck on the screen which used to make you hover over another icon in the task bar to get them to disappear.
• Now you have to go in and figure out how to repair your Outlook because it got all scrupped with the new yet fake eddress but that is an entirely different operation.

P.S. How did my choice to use the unordered list end up skipping that second line?

Most likely Tablet Mode, as dmholt57 suggests.

Turn On or Off Tablet Mode in Windows 10

Another posibility is accidentally pressing F11 which switches a browser to full screen mode.
