Windows 10: why can't I play with my friend

Hi, So I'm having issues with my Minecraft, I keep trying to join my friend's world, but it keeps saying it's an outdated client. I don't know what that means, or how to fix that. I've tried updating my Minecraft, but it doesn't need an update. and my friend doesn't need to update either. I've checked my version of Minecraft in the menus of the game, mine is 1.20.62 but hers is 1.20.71 i don't know if that's relevant but it's what I got. If it helps, she is on Play station 4 and I'm on PC. we've never had problems before. I just don't know what to do.

Steam Friends cross play

OK So basically I got the pc game pass. Me n my mate wanted to play Astroneer. Now I bought mine on Microsoft n his on steam however in the xbox app where you download the games I could link my steam. But none of my steam friends appear online or even
on my friends list though it says the account are linked.
