Windows 10: Why can't I replace a full paragraph with notepad

SO I'm trying to edit a saved game file in notepad to add some text to it. However, only the first line of the text I want to replace goes in the search bar. The text I want to replace it with doesn't fully go in the replace line either. for some reason. In the both search boxes i have tried to use the arrow key to see if the full text got put into the boxes. However, the full text isn't in the boxes. I want to replace all of the files that say example this: ca_asoiaf_north_basevalue_1=yes ca_asoiaf_north_basevalue_2=yes levy=with this: ca_asoiaf_nor

Replace Notepad in Windows 10 1909 with Dark Notepad

I don't find anything from Dark Notepad authors on how to set it as Default. So I would contact them through the link which appear at the bottom of their Download page in MS Store app, which every app maker must provide to support their app. Let them know
you're airing this in Microsoft Community forums where we are waiting to hear how they suggest to do this.

There is another Notepad++ app here that gives some steps which it provides to replace the default in it's Settings:

If your Dark Notepad app doesn't have similar then toward the end of that tutorial there is a registry edit to replace the Notepad default you can try.

Your screenshot of Task Manager and the notepad.exe properties shows the same size and creation date as in @dalchina's earlier screenshot. So it looks like it is the real notepad that's running.

But - it isn't running the way it should. In your Task Manager there should be a > to the left of notepad, and clicking on it should open up a list of the Notepad instances that are running, along with the name of the document that's open (or 'Untitled - Notepad' if none).

Yours doesn't show that (compare it with dalchina's screenshot). Notepad is running - yes, but not the way it's supposed to. It appears to be in the list of background processes, not in the list of Apps where it should be. Could something be trying to run it as a service? Perhaps some malware set this up, but failed to replace the genuine notepad.exe with its counterfeit one?

As a first step I'd look at the Startup tab in Task Manager for clues.
