  1. Why can't my pc recognise our Verizon mifi 8800L?

Ever since the pandemic we've had a Verizon mifi 8800L to use for internet, as there are literally no other internet services where I live. I've been using it on my pc with usb tethering and it's been working great for a long while. The other day I had my keyboard in my lap while I rearranged some stuff on my desk, and I reached down to plug my mouse back in and the keyboard fell and hit the pc which caused it to crash. It restarted and everything is working fine, except it won't connect to the mifi anymore. I go to device manager and it says the drivers aren't installed for it. Online everyon

    :)

    Mifi 8800L won't install on Windows 10

My Windows 10 PC locked up (it wouldn't wake up). I power cycled it and it decided to install an update (I am assuming that's why it locked up). I use this PC as a router that bonds 3 hot spots for my internet connection. Each hot spot is some sort of NDIS
compatible device. Since the update, one of the hot spots won't install in Windows. Now, the Mifi 8800L reports as some 'other' USB device. Different solutions suggest manually installing drivers, renaming existing drivers, or manually selecting the correct
driver for this device. Between 'TrustedInstaller' ownership of INF files and required device signatures, I can't change anything Windows decides to do.

One method was to rename an INF file so force Windows to use a different one. The file was owned by 'TrustedInstaller'. Changing ownership of the file didn't allow me to change permissions enough to rename it. I looked into temporarily disabling the signed
driver requirement, but apparently an administrator of the PC doesn't have the authority to do that either.

Short of doing a full reset of the PC, can someone suggest something that would allow the hot spot to work again? I am just a lowly owner of the PC with full admin rights, so I would need to work within those parameters.

    Thanks.

  3. Windows 10 Enterprise - Unable to auto connect to Verizon Mifi

    Hello,

I have a Verizon Mifi Jetpack that I am unable to connect to using Windows 10 Enterprise. If I reimage the same machine with Windows 10 Pro it connects just fine.

When attempting to connect it hangs at "Checking network requirements..." and never returns. Never gives an error and never prompts for a password. If I manually create the network profile for the wireless connection I am able to connect.

    Steps tried to resolve issue:

    1. Tried switching from 2.4GHz to 5GHz on Mifi
    2. Tried switching authentication protocols on Mifi (WPA2 AES, WPA2 TKIP etc..)
    3. Tried deploying Windows 10 Enterprise on different machines. Same issue (Surface Book w/ Marvell NIC; Dell Laptop w/ Intel NIC)
    4. Tested with updated drivers on the laptop with an Intel NIC.

Any ideas on this one? I've tried doing netmon and netsh traces and procmon traces but I can't seem to spot anything.

    Thank you for your time.
