    Why can't the Windows Defender App and Browser Control remove or quarantine the unwanted...


    My Windows Defender now Windows Security detected an unwanted app in my laptop. So, I chose an action. I tried REMOVE and QUARANTINE but it's not doing anything. I tried so many ways, I even tried restarting my PC and performed an offline scan but still failed. The yellow exclamation point is still showing up therefore I don't have a choice but to click the ALLOW THE APP button which is for me very stupid for Microsoft to give such option.

    Removing Quarantined Items in Windows Defender

    Windows Defender quarantined some harmful items but did not remove them from my pc. Windows Defender did not request removal. Should I just leave the items quarantined or remove them myself? If removal is recommended, how am I to go about

    doing so, as Windows Defender did not list the items in the Detect section where threats are placed for removal?

    Sign in is not supported due to out-of-date system components on your device. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/? does not exist.

    The KB4559309 update to newer version not wanted.

    Windows Defender app & browser control history shows 3 potentially unwanted app found can not remove or quarantine. Files listed do not exist.

    Remove Malware from Quarantine in Windows Defender

    When items are in Quarantine, you are protected, they couldn't distribute or harm your system and they stay in Quarantine just in case if it was incorrect detection and you want to restore them.

    However, if you select them and click on remove or remove all, they will be removed from Quarantine (NOT just Windows Defender).

    In addition, Windows Defender automatically remove Quarantine items after a while.
