Why copy paste function is working miserable in Windows 10. When you copy 5 items in file explorer, after paste you can see only 3 items pasted. Some times 4, some times 2. Overall very poor OS

• Did you make any recent software/hardware changes to your computer?
• Is the copy/paste functioning not working fro particular application or on whole computer?
• How are you using copy/paste option via right click or keyboard shortcuts or via edit menu within the application?
• Is the issue specific to a file format or all the file formats?

Suggest you to use the copy/paste using shortcuts that is Ctrl+C, Ctrl+X, Ctrl+V to copy cut and past respectively.

Also install all the pending updates on your computer, restart your computer and check if it helps.

Original title : Desktop Window Manager Session Manager

I'm not sure I''m in the right area, but my copy and paste functions aren't working. I've tried the Run, OK, services.msc methods searching for the Clipboard and the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager.
Neither is listed. How can I find them and reinstall them Then hopefully my copy and paste functions will start working properly again. Thank Sabrina

I read through a long list of items on this problem but most were dated around 2012 and had to do with Windows 7. I am running Windows 10 and have kept up with all updates. This is a new problem: I copy something from one app (e.g., Evernote) and paste
it into another (e.g., an Outlook email). Nothing appears. Sometimes, even thought I click ^V, a V gets typed onto the page.

But sometimes after a long wait, an error message appears saying that the copy function failed and nothing was copied to the clipboard. I am guessing this is the fundamental problem because when I get that message, everything tends to freeze up and I have
to use the task manager to close each app. And it tends to be when I am trying to copy and past between apps, not copying a paragraph in Word from one location to another.
