Windows 10: Why did I lose all passwords on edge browser, can't access start menu or access task menu...

My step dad suddenly lost all his passwords on the edge browser, can't open the start menu, or access the search bar next to the start menu. I tried restarting, shutting down, and nothing worked.

You generally set that via the Start Menu settings (right-click start menu -> properties).

I had that issues a while ago, and it meant removing it from the Start Menu, and reinstalling my browser to get the icon back, it was very odd.

Hey guys I need your help fixing the default access icon on the start menu, as far as google searches suggested default user access and all it only fixes the IE icon, but when I chose fire fox to display it's just a globe when clicked on it still displays IE's properties but doesn't start firefox instead. Help please? *Respect :respect:*Cry :cry:

BTW it was not like this before, I just wanted a clean install for my browser.

The system works fine until I launch the Edge browser. Once I start it, the Start menu stops responding and breaks.

Restarting explorer.exe usually helps, but sometimes it doesn't and the menu can't start.

Restarting dwm.exe doesn't help either.

The issue begins with the Start menu becoming unresponsive, followed by the taskbar becoming unresponsive as well. This then leads to problems with switching between windows, and eventually, the Task Manager stops responding. Although the Ctrl+Alt+Del command works, the Task Manager fails to start. Eventually, the desktop becomes completely unresponsive, rendering the user unable to perform any actions. Programs, however, continue to run in the background. Restarting or resetting the system becomes impossible, and in some cases, the screen may turn black.

I suspect EDGE asking about something the menu (like list of all programs wich user is loged in, etc. some spaying stuff) the query starts some procedure, and on this procedure menu start hang out..

I suspect that Edge is requesting access to something in the menu, such as a list of all programs, the user is logged in to, .just some spaying stuff. This request triggers a procedure that causes the Start menu to hang and become unresponsive.

I have turned off all features that track, index search, programs launched, and the like

Do you have any ideas what the Edge browser might be asking the Start menu to do, or what routines in the Start menu it might be triggering?
