Windows 10: Why did KB4338819 resistall Office 365 and uninstall OneDrive?

After allowing the update to install on all three of my PCS-- desktop, laptop, and Surface Pro 4, Office 365 was reinstalled and OneDrive stopped working. Had to reinstall OneDrive ( not as much of hassle as with the original 1803 April " Feature Failure,") I'm still curious why KB4338819 reinstalled Office 365 and disabled OneDrive on all 3 computers.


I know nobody at Microsoft actually cares about the consumer experience, and trying to speak with anyone in tech support is a travesty. Since the April update I've been on the phone with Level 1 and Level 2 technicians. Neither are helpful. level 1 technicians, located who knows where, can hardly speak any language at all and, through a barely audible connection, especially over the background babble of other L1 techs trying to deal with customers. They're basically reading from a script.


Level 2 techs are scarcely more competent. The last person to whom I gave permission to take control of my computer through LogMeIn stole all my passwords and other sensitive after an unauthorized (to say the least) scan of every file on my PC. , and after receiving notices from pretty much every account to which I'm connected, I've learned a couple of lessons.


1.) Don't call Microsoft support


2.) If you do want to waste a few hours of your life every couple of days ( to correct the new problems Do NOT let any Tech support person have access to your computer. Have them give you instructions a bout what to do every step of the way.


3. Of course, they still won't be able to provide any useful information or solutions. The best options come from the community forums.

office 365 vs office 2013

my Microsoft surface came with 1 month trial of ms office 365 , now it's expired.now I wanna know if I she subscribe to office 365 or uninstall it & install office 2013. what's the difference between both?

They are the same, 365 has less money making schemes, but dumps everything on the cloud.
365 is online, 2013 is 100% offline.
Also 365 will cost more in the longrun, especially if you dont upgrade for 3 years.

 

Cortana & Office 365 Integration

We are trying to integrate Cortana with our Office 365 subscription, but it never works. Here are the steps we have done:

• Turned on Cortona in the Office 365 Admin portal
• We are using Windows 10 1703 – connected Office 365 service to Cortana

Did the same on windows 10 mobile with no luck, Cortana says its connected to Office 365, but sees no data and we are getting zero errors

We went rough office 365 support first and tried all fo their suggestions, they kicked us over to Windows support which is currently closed.

We are on v1703 with all updates in place, it does not work on Windows 10 desktop or mobile

any ideas? I can give you all steps 365 support had us run through if that will be helpful
