So, a while ago, I found that windows movie maker was not available for Windows 10, but Microsoft Movie Maker was, so I downloaded it. Yesterday, I was doing research to try to figure out how to merge video clips in Windows 10, and found that supposedly, it was a feature in Microsoft photos, and recalled Movie Maker.I found that the videos that I had wanted to merge would not do so in Microsoft Photos. Photos was telling me to download ClipChamp.I initially tried to use Moviemaker, which kept producing an error, stating that it would not update anymore. it was not importing media for some reas

Nothing is transferred or left behind when you upgrade. An upgrade installs Windows 11 on top of your already existing software.

If you run into problems with Microsoft Movie Maker 2012, it will likely be due to the fact that Movie Maker was discontinued more than 5 years ago, in January of 2017. As a result, it isn't supported on Windows 11.

It's not against the law to use unsupported software, but doing so entails some risk. No one has updated the software to ensure that it works properly on Windows 11, and no one has tested it to see if it works properly on Windows 11 as-is. As a result, if something goes wrong you have to be your own tech support, because there are no official solutions from Microsoft.

Movie Maker's successor in Windows 11 is Clipchamp, which Microsoft acquired last year. Clipchamp is available in Microsoft Store, and includes a video maker. • Type appwiz.cpl in the search box and hit Enter.
• Right click Windows Essentials 2012 and select repair.
