    Why did Microsoft get rid of the expandable start menu screen?


    Why did Microsoft get rid of the expandable start menu screen? I really liked that feature. Now you can't have the start menu screen at full screen. They had it working really good with a scroll mouse or you could use the arrow buttons on the keyboard.

    Are you talking about the Command Prompt? If so, it's still there and I see no evidence that it's going away.

    I mean did Microsoft get rid of the old Windows console because it was Bill Gate's project? I love that console because I had to learn it and information on batch scripting in it was not readily available. I guess someone thought it was exclusive for
    all the Windows 2000 professional retirees and want to go to something new. There was a little trick to using batch scripts and that was an executable could wrap around it and run batch scripts within it. I do not think it can be possible with powershell.
    There was this idea that old stuffy Ph.D's used to use the Windows console for their own research operations too.
