  1. Why did MS get rid of game controller calibration and the devices and printers is gone

Microsoft eliminated the ability to manage hardware devices like printers and game controllers. Is there any type of software in the wild that I can use to calibrate my joystick, wheel, and pedals? Any help would be greatly appreciated. On a side note, Microsoft really should bring that snapin back.PS Please no copy/paste answers

  2. BU0836X game controller won't calibrate

After updating from Windows 10 home to Windows 10 pro my BU0836X game controller cannot be calibrated. It shows up in the list of game controllers but when you click on properties to try and calibrate the device the box says it's a communications device
and calibrate is grayed out. Furthermore, this device worked fine before I updated to windows 10 pro!! I need this device as part of an experiment I've been working on for the last 5 years and I do not have time for this nonsense. I tried every single "fix"
I could find not one worked at all. I paid for the updated OS thinking it would be an improvement. Instead it set me back months. What is the problem and how can I fix this?

  3. Controller Calibration Wizard is BROKEN

    Hello--

I need some help. I don't get along with computers and am just a step or two above tech-illiterate so please allow for my idiocy. Apologies in advance if I come off as a bit peeved; I've been mucking about with my controller and computer for almost three hours now.

My hard/software: Windows 10, Project64 emulator, retrobit 64 tribute controller (single joystick, essentially the old N64 controller).

Not the problem: My controller is showing up under devices like it should. It interacts with the emulator just fine, except for calibration being absolutely necessary. I can access and run the calibration wizard.

The Problem: When I run the calibration wizard, it never goes through the steps where I calibrate the X and Y axes. It jumps straight to the Z axis, which I don't have and it does not register whatsoever. I just need to calibrate my single joystick, but the calibration wizard on my computer does not provide the proper steps to do so.

With my luck I won't be surprised if this is a never-before-encountered, one-in-a-million chance, unfixable problem. But please, please tell me that it's a simple fix and that I am just an idiot. Thanks in advance, folks.

    Here's Hoping,
    Belle

Why did MS get rid of game controller calibration and the devices and printers is gone

USB game controller's are pressing keyboard keys

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand how difficult it is, when the device won't work in the way it should. If the controller isn't working properly, or if you have accidentally calibrated your controller with the wrong settings, I'd suggest you to reset the Game Calibration to
    its default and check.

To reset Game Controller Calibration to its default:

    1. Connect the controller.

    2. Click on Start icon.

    3. Type Control Panel and press Enter.

    4. Click on Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

    5. Right click on the controller and select Game controller settings.

    6. Click on Properties button.

    7. Under Settings tab, click on Reset to default.

    8. Click on Apply and OK.

Unplug the controller and plug it back and check if it makes any difference. Repeat the same steps for all the other controllers and update us on the result.

    Hope it helps.
