Windows 10: Why did my archives disappeared if I did not delete them?

I checked the files app and I noticed that some files located in the Downloads folder suddenly disappeared and I did not dele them. I went to check the Recicle Bin and they're not even there. I can't seem to find them. I have no idea where to look for them either or how to fix whatever happened.

Is it possible to replace the "Delete" button with "Archive" button in Mail?

I am using Gmail with the Mail (Version 17.8004) client on Windows 10.

In the list and in the notification popup, there only are "Delete" and "Set Flag" buttons. But I usually do not delete e-mails; I archive them.

I can right-click the list and choose "Archive", but it would be more convenient if I could easily archive them with a single click. I could not find any option to use archiving instead of deleting in the options.

Is it possible?

I can only suggest that you
1 Add a list of steps you have already taken.
2 Add a comment about restarting the computer. Do the deleted icons disappear then?
2 Add a comment explaining if any Desktop items do delete correctly and whether or not there are any significant differences between those that do delete correctly and those that don't.
3 Add a list of any OS tweaks you have done & any third-party OS-related utilities you have run.

I assume you have already reinstalled your display driver.

Delete gmail instead of archive

It is possible with making a change to your Google sync settings. Had the same issue and resolved it with the steps in this link.
