Windows 10: Why did my mic stop working AFTER I upgraded to Windows 11?

Everything was working fine while I was running Windows 10, then I get the Microsoft threat that soon they will no longer support Win10 and that I have to up-grade to Win11. Well it was a free up-grade so I can't complain too much, but now my mic doesn't work!I have scoured the internet and done all the "Fix you mic now!" videos and webpages, but none of that worked. I tried installing 3rd party software that is supposed to boost the mic and still nothing. Again...EVERYTHING worked fine under Win10, so it is NOT my mic I have also tried another mic, still no go and it is not my PC since ,a

No mic will work windows 11

I have tried using Bluetooth device (speaker is fine/no mic), the laptop on board speakers are fine/no mic, a 3.5mm jack headset (speaker is fine/no mic) and a USB headset (speaker is fine/no mic). I haven't found a solution for this issue.

I have tried updating Windows 11, updating the audio drivers, making sure the mic is usable by all apps, uninstalling audio devices in device manager and restarting, and stopping Windows audio services in services.msc and starting them back up.

Nothing seems to work. I tried running a troubleshooter and it came up with an error and couldn't proceed. I'm not at home, so I will update with the error code when I get a chance.

Any suggestions on how to get microphones to work on this computer?

 

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

 

Why has bluetooth mic stopped working.

My Bluetooth mic has stopped working on my Windows 10 phone. The sound is connected OK but the mic won't work. I've tried resetting everything, disconnecting/reconnecting, rebooting but nothing seems to help. The windows phone uses its internal mic and
ignores the Bluetooth mic. Anyone any suggestions?
