    above. the question says it all. it says it was do for a scan and when i ran it, it showed almost 30,000 files being scanned. that seems ridiculous. i would like to know why though, if you guys could tell me. thank you

    Windows 10 Pro Virus and Treat Protection - cannot set anything

    Hello I have just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. I am running Windows defender and Malwarebytes. I am having some problems with the Virus and Treat Protection settings. I notice that many of the settings are set 'off' and I cannot turn them 'on'. I have an administrator account. I cannot add any file exclusions or run any scans. Any idea to how I can solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Windows 10 Pro Virus and Treat Protection - cannot set anything

    I have rebuilt the machine, so all is OK now - thanks for all your help.

    However, I am having a problems with seeing my networked media player. I can ping the media player successfully but I cannot connect to it via the PC. I cant add it to the Defender Firewall.
