Windows 10: why did my wireless keyboard stop working intermittently

I have a Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Keyboard 1559 on a Dell Inspiron 7580 64-bit laptop running Windows 10 Home and my keyboard stopped working so I replaced the batteries and it worked again but then stopped after 100 or so keystrokes, so I took out the batteries momentarily & put them back in again & it worked for another 100 or so keystrokes then stopped. To keep it going I take about the batteries momentarily each time it stops & then it works again. The wireless mouse and number keypad work without issues. I've deleted and reinstalled the keyboard drivers, the troubleshooter s

There may be a number of reasons why a keyboard would suddenly stop functioning properly. Kindly provide answers to the information listed below, so we could further assess on this issue:

• Are you getting any error messages that could pertain to your keyboard?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have done so far?
• Are there any noticeable physical damages on the keyboard?
• Is the keyboard connected to the PC wired or wireless?
• Does this issue happen intermittently, or all the time?

What caused 2x USB/Wireless Keyboards & Mice to suddenly stop working?

I know had trouble with both my wireless mouse and keyboard after plugging a new external HDD into the USB-3 port near by. I eventually solved it by putting these RF input devices on USB extensions from the back ports.

It would be nice if it were that simple. And while my problem was intermittent it seems worth asking especially hearing about a concurrent Wifi issue.

Need a new wireless keyboard - suggestions?

This is a for work - not gaming!

My work keyboard is a wireless logitech, lasted some 6 years and now has a case of sticking keys, so I need a new one. I really liked it, thought the key action isn't the greatest. It has been through millions of keystrokes.

I have a G5 gaming mouse (both work and home), I want to keep that.

So I'm looking for:

• Wireless and responsive
• (USB and PS2 capable)
• Assignable hot keys
• Dedicated volume and playback buttons
• Great feel (for lots of typing)
• Intergrated wrist-wrest
• Black (nice not to see gunk that builds up)
• Under $100

Anyone have any "passionate" suggestions? I plan to stop at staples to try some out. I am partial to Logitech.
