Windows 10: Why did OneDrive delete ALL MY WORK

I'll try to explain this as calmly as possible. The onedrive folder has caused countless problems for me -- I never wanted backup/an online cloud ever, and never consented to it stealing taking my work and doing with it what it will or mucking around on my computer. But yet there was always a onedrive folder on my computer. I had deleted onedrive a long time ago, because of how terrible and scam-my it was, but thought maybe if I re-downloaded it I could get this stupid folder off my computer once and for all I was suspecting it was taking up extra space, for some reason copying all my doc f

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

Photos deleted from gallery, deleted on Onedrive

It sounds like your photos deleted from gallery have also been deleted on Onedrive.

First I suggest you try to check maybe the Deleted Galary on your phone to see if it's possible to get deleted photos back. Then you may try to visit the OneDrive website to see if the photos you synced are there. If not, you may follow the steps listed on this link | Find lost or missing files in OneDrive (microsoft.com) to see if they could be found back.

OneDrive keeps uploading files I've deleted

It's possible that OneDrive is still syncing the deleted files from your desktop to the cloud. Allow me to ask:

• Are you using OneDrive for Personal? or OneDrive for Business?
  
• Can you still see the deleted folder in Your request has been blocked. This could be due to several reasons. ? If you are I would suggest deleting it in the OneDrive.com since this is the cloud server of OneDrive.
  
• I would like to know what @domain and who is hosting your email account? example for @domains: Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, Outlook.com/Hotmail.com
  
  • May I know if the account is for Work/School use? or Personal (Hotmail/Outlook.com) use?
    

To stop this, you can try the following steps:



1. Pause OneDrive syncing: Right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray and select "Pause syncing". This will stop OneDrive from uploading any new files.



2. Clear OneDrive cache: Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key + R, type %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset, and press Enter. This will clear the OneDrive cache and reset the app.



3. Unlink and relink OneDrive: Right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray and select "Settings". Go to the "Account" tab and click "Unlink this PC". Then, sign in to your Microsoft account and relink your PC to OneDrive. Unlink and re-link OneDrive - Microsoft Support

Note: No data will be lost by unlinking and re-linking your OneDrive, your local folders are just disconnected from the cloud for a short while. Any changes made while you're unlinked will be synced once re-linking is complete.



4. Exclude the folder from syncing: If the above steps don't work, you can exclude the folder from syncing by right-clicking on the OneDrive icon in the system tray, selecting "Settings", going to the "Account" tab, clicking "Choose folders", and unchecking the folder you don't want to sync.
