    Why did the morons at Microsoft make the WMA file format?We already had plenty of audio file formats. So the morons at Microsoft make another one so they didn't have to pay for MP3s. Yet another decision by Microsoft aimed at helping itself while annoying their users.

    Converting WMA files to MP3 format

    Just Bing for 'Convert WMA to MP3'. many options are listed, like
    http://www.wma-mp3.org/    . Not endorsing that, just one of the first free ones listed.

    But, is it that what you want to play the disc in doesn't support wma? because you can write wmas to a CD as easily as mp3s. Keep in mind that converting from one compressed digital format to another is never lossless.

    Does the 920 play WMA Lossless format audio?

    I have not been able to find the answer to this anywhere on the web, and the Nokia Specifications page for the Lumia 920 lists "WMA 10 Pro" and "WMA 9" as supported Music format Codecs.



    Does the 920 play back audio files in the WMA Lossless format?



    (Please, not debate on this vs FLAC, pros and cons of lossless formats vs compressed, etc. I understand all those issues and only want to know if the 920 will play WMA Lossless. None of the WP7.x phones would...)

    Convert WMA to mp3?

    I have tried creative media source, and nero's file conversion programs but both tell me that microsoft does not allow the transcoding of WMA. I really dont give a shit what microsoft says, these files belong to me. Anyone know any program that will bypass the bullshit and allow wma>mp3 conversion?
