Why did the Windows KB5032189 update take a considerable amount of time, approximately 2...

I work in IT support for my organization, and we've encountered an issue with the November 2023 Windows update KB5032189. More than 10 devices have been affected, with the problem being that these devices spend approximately 2 hours on the "Getting Windows ready" loading screen, and there's no percentage displayed. This update is taking longer than usual. Is this a known issue, and if so, could you provide some insight into why it's taking longer than usual? Thank you.

    :)

    Windows 10 update fails at 98% (KB5032189 and KB5032339)

    Hello

I’m struggling with the KB5032189 and KB5032339, they both fail at the final 98% after booting. (and then Windows reverts the changes.)

    I’m running Windows 10 Pro build 19045.3448 on a 13600k with 64GB ram

What I have tried so far: (most of it several times)

    1. Windows update troubleshooter, no change.
    2. C: drive has 700 GB free, and is free of errors etc. (2tb Samsung 990 pro).
    3. Have cleared Windows update cache and catalogues.
    4. Have used SFC /scannow, no change
    5. Have used DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth etc, no change.
    6. Windows10Upgrade9252 and MediaCreationTool22H2 say windows is up to date.
    7. Have disabled the antivirus etc and even uninstalled it completely, but no change.
    8. Have done extensive scans with several antivirus tools etc, and no virus/malware etc found.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  3. Is it ok to not update to (KB5032189)?

Hello, i have been delaying the windows update (KB5032189), because after the first time it installed my computer slowed down quite a lot, before the update my pc was running very fast, but after that one installation it became super slow, is it ok to not update to that?

Why did the Windows KB5032189 update take a considerable amount of time, approximately 2...

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Why did the Windows KB5032189 update take a considerable amount of time, approximately 2... :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
