Snipping Tool - Where is the Ruler?

    Hi,

There was an update to Win11 and the Ruler feature on the Snipping tool has been removed. Why has this useful tool been removed? Instead there is a replacement tool called "shapes" - not the same thing as ruler, sorry.

Please bring back the ruler feature on the snipping tool. Is there a reason why things that are useful are always taken away after a system update? This is a simple request: please stop doing that.

    Many thanks,

  3. Can the ruler tool put back in Snipping Tool? It was a very useful tool.

Thank you for the suggestion of ShareX.

I downloaded it and tried out the highlight function. Not the same as the highligher and ruler in Snipping Tool (which I used to create a part of a manual) but I guess this will have to do during the interim. The manual looks funny with part of the highlighter/ruler of Snipping Tool and the other parts which will be the highlighter of ShareX.

I sincerely hope Microsoft realizes that many of us would like the ruler back and act quickly to put it back into place!

  4. Why did you remove the ruler from the Snipping Tool?

RULER FEATURE IN SNIPPING TOOL DISAPPEARED.

After the software update today, I noticed that the ruler feature in the snipping tool app disappeared. I tried to repair, reset, uninstall, and reinstall the app through the Microsoft Store, but I got the same results. After the snipping tool was reinstalled, no ruler appeared. Did they remove the feature from the app? Can someone please tell me how to bring back the feature?
