Why do all of my applications move to my primary display whenever the machine sleeps or...

I have a Windows 10 Home machine, running on Intel i7-11700F w/ 32G of main mem. I have a pair of monitors connected to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. My drivers are up-to-date.Until earlier this week, I'd had two 1920x1080 24" monitors connected to the machine. Differing brands. One was Dell and the other is ViewSonic. Before swapping out the Dell monitor, I'd never had this problem before, but I replaced the Dell with an Acer 27" 2560x1440. The ViewSonic is still Windows' primary monitor, which is what I want, but every time the machine goes to screensaver or to sleep, it now moves EVERY SINGLE

  3. All control lost when primary machine sleeps and control on other machine

Hi, my name is Kelly, and I'm an independent consultant and I'm here to help.

It sounds like you are using a software like Mouse Without Borders or a similar program to control both machines with one set of keyboard and mouse. When the primary machine (A) goes to sleep, it's possible that the software loses connection to the machine and is unable to wake it up.

To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

Make sure that the software is up-to-date on both machines.

Check the power settings on machine A to make sure that it is not set to hibernate or shut down after a certain period of inactivity.

Try changing the power settings on machine A to "Never" for "Turn off display" and "Put the computer to sleep".

Check if there are any updates available for the drivers on both machines, particularly the mouse and keyboard drivers.

Try using a different software for controlling both machines, if available.

If the issue persists, you can try reaching out to the software support team for further assistance.
