Windows 10: Why do blocked sites in Microsoft Start news widgets keep coming back ?

Why do blocked news providers in microsoft news widgets keep coming back? I will spend time blocking all the junk news providers. These then show up in "Personalise Microsoft Start" Blocked list . Then within a short period of time the blocked list disappeared and all the rubbish new providers reappaer.Is there any way to make the blocked list last ?

Disabling News in Windows 11 Widgets

Yet another thread about how to disable the news from reappearing in the Windows 11 Widgets. I mean, I love the idea of seeing my schedule or my to dos at a glance, but boy, the useless news coming from tabloids, I could live without. I tried several times to prevent stories from specific feeds and news agencies, but they keep coming back!

Has anyone figured a way to hack the registry or block the TPC/IP ports feeding the Windows 11 Widgets without blocking the desired widgets like the to dos or the Outlook Calendar?

@MiCrOsOfT, if you see this, please, consider adding a feature that allows us turning off those unproductive nuisances.

@support agents: don't give me those pre-written replies telling me to reset, reboot or reinstall my Windows machine... And don't tell me to leave a suggestion to Microsoft... I already did and it does not seem Microsoft is listening.

 

Blocking sites with Hosts File


Hello,

I am trying to block all porn sites on the laptop that I let kids play on. I tried using the hosts file to block them, I found a huge list of porn sites to block. But when I tried to load other sites like Facebook, YouTube, etc. It will take forever to load as I believe it is checking the whole list of sites.

Now what am wondering is there anyway of doing it and not have any difference with the speed of any other website? Because youtube should just come up with no issues. But with all those sites in the host file it takes forever.
