    Why do deck top icons have a gray x in the bottom left hand corner? I'm using windows 10.


    Short time ago deck top icons started showing a speaker, then 2 people in a box, then a green circle with an x and now there is a gray x at the bottom left hand corner. Can someone tell me what is going on with this?

    Windows icon in left hand corner not working

    Hi

    The Windows icon in the left hand corner and the time/date calendar isn't working.

    Is there an easy way to fix this?

    windows icon in the lower left hand corner it will not bring up the icons

    When I click on the windows icon in the lower left hand corner it will not bring up the icons

    Why do deck top icons have a gray x in the bottom left hand corner? I'm using windows 10.

    Erroneous symbols at the bottom left corner of desktop icons

    I'm running Windows 10 with the latest updates. A few days ago, the icons for objects on the desktop changed appearance. The icons are correct but
    all have a symbol at the bottom left corner:

    • Shortcuts show the correct shortcut symbol
    • All files erroneously show a shortcut symbol
    • Almost all folders erroneously show a shortcut symbol
    • Some folders erroneously show "X"

    The icons for files and folders (including the Desktop folder) displayed using File Explorer are all normal.

    I would appreciate any suggestions.
