Why do event viewer logs save when opened from file explorer?

I went into windows\system32\winevt\logs and opened an event log. When I did this, it would go into the "saved logs" section. Is it safe to delete from saved logs as I don't want the log there?

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

  3. Store will not open

Please provide a copy of your Application Log of the Event viewer.

To do this do the steps:

    • Open Store, just to log the detail in the event viewer
    • Type in event viewer in the search box.
    • on the left side list open Windows Logs>Application Logs
    • Right Click that application Log and select save all as.
    • After saving upload that .evtx file on onedrive publically and share the link here.
    Waiting for an earliest reply.

Why do event viewer logs save when opened from file explorer?

No log file locations in Event Viewer

I opened Win 10's Event Viewer (first as myself, second as Administrator) and tried to create a Custom View.

I chose reporting By Log, but when I clicked on the drop-down menu for log locations, none were listed.

    What gives?
