Windows 10: Why do I get a Code 39 in device manager from my mouse?

Device Status:Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. Code 39 The specified image file did not have the correct format, it did not have an initial MZ.I don't know what this means. My mouse was working just fine yesterday but now it didn't want to work. Went to Device Manager and got this error code. I have tried to uninstall device and restart my laptop, but I still get the same error.

• Do you get same error codes in the Device manager too?
• Does this issue occurs in other hardware components like keyboard and mouse?
• What is the make and model of your computer?
• Do you get same error when you connect your extenal hard drive to a different computer running Windows 10?

Code 39 error for Imaging Devices

The Event Logs indicate that there may have been a previous Logitech camera installed.

Did you have a Logitech camera installed and did it too give the "Code 39" ?

Also, for the device presently giving the "Code 39" can you confirm the Class GUID for the device:

In the Device Manager right-click the device giving the "Code 39" > Properties > Details, then choose "Class GUID" from the drop-down menu under "Property".

What is listed under "Value"?
