Windows 10: Why do I get a message to remove write protect when uploading to Onedrive. I have checked...

When uploading files to Onedrive I get the message to remove "write protect". In file properties I can see that they are not write protected. When I view these files in File Manager they appear with a small grey X on them.These files were once uploaded to an older account of Onedrive which is no longer available.Is there any way to enable me to upload these files to Onedrive. There are quite a lot of such files. mainly PDF but not only

Removing write protect

Last year I went through an important data folder on my PC and Write Protected the individual files of folders. Now I need to copy them to a USB stick to install on another Lap Top. Every time I try to copy I get a Write Protect message and my USB flash
drive is Write Protected with no data. Repeatedly I've selected individual folders, selected Properties, and tried to remove the Write Protection and indications and it works. To verify I reselect the same folder and go to Properties again. Write Protect
is still there. I've used Apply with bo success. How can I remove Write Protect?no success.

In regards to your concern, please help me with following questions:

• Is the Hard drive external or internal?

You can try following steps and check if that fixes the issue:

1. Run Virus scan on the Hard Drive.
2. Perform check disk commands on the Hard Disk to fix the Disk errors.

Note: Remove all the external devices before performing check disk.

remove write-protected

when i try to copy files to SD card from my computer i got message saying "the disk is write protected..remove write protection or change the disk".i cannot understand what exactly this means..can any one hepl me in how to remove write protection?
