Windows 10: Why do I have to put my phone number to just redeem my reward.

I started to rank up points just to find out that I need to put a phone number. I don't have a phone. If any Microsoft people are here or teams can you just forward the code to my email? -Mad Person >:

Did you ever redeem some Microsoft Rewards point?

When I tried to redeem my points at page

https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/redeem/

After I clicked "confirm reward", I was re-directed to a page of "Phone verification" to receive 6-digit code, and to make it worse, if I input my number, all I got is a page of:

There’s an issue with your account or order.

 

Microsoft Rewards without a phone number

All you should require is a Microsoft account to use Microsoft rewards. What specifically is asking for a phone number? What do you wish to redeem the points for?

Depending on what you wish to redeem the points for the points will be converted to money & added to your account’s wallet for use on the App Store, used to pay for an entry into a draw or other.
