  1. Why do I need to always restart windows explorer through task manager to autohide taskbar

Typically a dozen times a week or so my taskbar will not hide itself. My autohide taskbar settings are always on and all of that as that is the first solution to every single tutorial on how to hide taskbar. Now the second solution to hide a taskbar that will not hide itself is restarting windows explorer through task manager. It's relatively simple to do and always works. My question is why do I have to do this all the time? What exactly is going wrong, if anything, that is causing my taskbar to not do what its supposed to do and causing it to not hide properly.

    :)

  2. Taskbar Autohide error

I'm running Windows 11 and have the taskbar autohide option activated. I've been having a Problem, that whenever I restart or reboot my laptop. The taskbar does not autohide and remains in its place; I open Windows Explorer from the task manager, restart it once, and the problem is resolved. But it happens again when I restart my laptop. What could be the reason? Need Guidance!

taskbar autohide is not working in windows 10

A good explanation of why the taskbar sometimes won't autohide is here, along with a longterm solution.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/31779/fixing-when-the-windows-taskbar-refuses-to-auto-hide-correctly/

A quick fix that worked for me, which I found on several sites but oddly not here at Microsoft, is to restart Windows Explorer. Here's how--

    1. Open the task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).

    2. Select Windows Explorer.

    3. Click on the "Restart" button at bottom right of Task Manager window.

You can see screen shots illustrating this at Fix: Windows 10 Taskbar Won’t Auto Hide
