Hello, I'm getting the impression that I am getting a serious case of Techno-Snobbery from Microsoft.I am trying to, with some difficulty you understand, to install the 'Pro' version of Microsoft's Wondows 11 Operating System.I own a HP 17-BY0026DS Laptop PC, and the computer's Hard Drive, catastrophically CRASHED. So I decided to install a new 2TB hard drive in the computer. The 2TB drive that I installed in the computer, was a new, formatted, totally 'clean' hard drive. It contained absolutely no previous Operating Systems, or data whatsoever. I mounted the 2TB hard drive, in the computer

Windows 11 pro OEM DVD

I am building my own desktop PC and purchased the Windows 11 Pro OEM DVD.

However, reading the Licence Agreement (yes, this tiny print outside the package) I am not sure if I can use this product. The information provided is quite confusing.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could shade some light to my confusion.

Windows 11 Pro OEM DVD

Ok I am a Windows insider and have played around with Windows 11 Release Preview channel, Dev Channel, Beta Channel and Canary Channel. I understand that these are pre-release versions and expect to see bugs/problems within.

Recently I purchased a new NVME drive as well as a Retail OEM DVD version of Windows 11 Pro.

My question is that on this OEM edition, without signing up for the Insider Program, Why am I still seeing alot of bugs that I was seeing in the Insider editions?

 

Can Windows 10 Pro Use Windows 7 Pro OEM Key?

I purchased Windows 7 Pro OEM DVD while back.

I never installed Windows 7 Pro OEM on a system.

I just opened the Windows 7 Pro OEM DVD today.

I downloaded ISOs for both Win10 Home and Win10 Pro both x64.

I'm running VMWare Workstation 11 on my laptop which is running Win 8.1 Update.

I installed Windows 10 Pro x64 in VMWare Workstation 11 on my laptop.

Installation went fine.

Problem I'm having is trying to activate Windows 10 Pro x64.

I enter the key and it comes back with following message:

The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one.

Can the Key from the Win 7 Pro OEM be used to activate Windows 10 Pro?
