Windows 10: Why do I not have the option for a screen resolution of 3840x2160 for my external monitors...

After the latest update for Windows 11 I do not have the option to have 4k resolution for my external monitors. 3840x2160. I have previously had this set up.

Hi guys,

I just updated my graphic driver for my external monitor and all of the sudden, the resolution of my 2nd monitor looks odd. The scaling is a lot bigger and the task bar at the bottom of my screen is bigger on my 2nd monitor. How do I resolve this issue?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi guys,

I have resolved the issue. Because I've updated to the latest graphic drivers, it only provides me fewer display resolution options and didn't have the optimal display resolution for a 24 inch monitor from the drop down list. Therefore, I rolled back to the old driver and it allowed me to pick the correct resolution from the drop down list.

All is good now. Hope this would also help others who faced the similar issue.

 

Monitor resolution problem

I recently upgraded my windows from windows 7 to windows 10. I am using a 4K monitor, before i upgraded, i was able to change the screen resolution from a list of models including 1920X1440 and 2560x1600,
after i have upgraded, I can only select either 1600x1200 or 3840x2160.

You should be okay, the NVIDIA NVS 510 has a max resolution of 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz and the monitor has a resolution of 3,840 x 1,600

Rather than using the provided list in Windows, have you tried going into the Nvidia Control Panel and setting a custom resolution to match your monitor?
