Worked on my computer one day in file explorer and all was good. NO horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the navigation pane and ">" next to the folders to click on to expand the folder. The VERY NEXT DAY I go into file explorer to work and I now have a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the navigation pane which is a royal pain in the **** because it keeps jumping to the right when I click on folders. As well, when I click on a folder at the top of the pane, the pane jumps to the bottom of the folder list. This "jumping" just started about 4 months ago - another pain in the ****.

    :)

How to get horiz scrolling in Navigation Pane in Win 10 Explorer

    Welcome to TenForums @linuxgarou

One suggestion would be to hover the mouse over the dividing line between the navigation pane and the list of files (it's the right-hand edge of the navigation pane's vertical scroll bar). When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow you can click-and-drag to make the navigation pane wider.

I have mine set to about twice the width of the one in your screenshot.

Edit: and so apparently does Ztrucker in the following post.

    Horizontal Scroll Jump

I've reproduced what you have described. In the first pic, the file I chose was in the right column. In the second pic, the file, and all items in the right column are now left. I believe this is due to the fact that when click the file chosen, focus has been set on that area of the display. The right "pane" of the first display is now what is in focus. That is by design, to the best of my knowledge. The way it should work. Windows has grouped as many in LIST mode as possible in as few columns as possible, and by clicking on a file in that area/pane, you changed the Windows focus to that area.
