Windows 10: Why do large file copies pause on their own? Windows 10

Lately, I've had several file transfers with large numbers of files over 1M pause for no apparent reason. I can restart them without any problem, but it's irritating to have to check to see if it paused instead of simply completing. Why does this happen?This usually happens when transferring 1.3 million or so files as a group, usually between 600k and 900k files. It just pauses. I had one occurrence where it paused around 500k and then around 900k on the same job. The computer is set for the screen to turn off at 5 minutes, but set to never sleep, to allow these jobs to finish. Anyon

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
